Seasoning is a crucial step in cooking any meat, and it plays an important role in enhancing the overall flavor of your steak for the Juicy Strawberry & Beef Salad Bowl. The right amount of salt and pepper not only amplifies the natural flavors of the beef but also helps to create a splendid crust when cooked. A common mistake among home cooks is to overlook the resting period after cooking. Allowing your steak to rest for at least 5 to 10 minutes before slicing is essential; it helps retain the juices within the meat, resulting in a tender and juicy bite.

1 lb (450g) flank steak

1 tablespoon olive oil

Salt and black pepper, to taste

5 cups mixed salad greens (arugula, spinach, romaine)

1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced

1 avocado, diced

½ cup feta cheese, crumbled

¼ cup walnuts, toasted and chopped

¼ cup red onion, thinly sliced

¼ cup balsamic vinaigrette

Optional: Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Beef: Season the flank steak with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides. Let it marinate for about 15 minutes at room temperature.

Cook the Steak: Preheat a grill or pan over medium-high heat. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved. Remove from heat and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain.

Assemble the Salad: In a large salad bowl, combine the mixed salad greens, sliced strawberries, diced avocado, feta cheese, chopped walnuts, and red onion.

Dress the Salad: Drizzle the balsamic vinaigrette over the salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients evenly.

Serve the Salad: Top the salad with the sliced beef. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired. Serve immediately as a refreshing and hearty meal!
