Ingredients

1 pound ground turkey

1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup onion, finely diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon olive oil (for grilling)

Burger buns (4, of your choice)

Optional toppings: sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce

Instructions

Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, combine the chopped spinach, crumbled feta, breadcrumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Make the Mixture: Add the ground turkey and egg to the bowl with the spinach-feta mixture. Use your hands to gently mix the ingredients until everything is just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the burgers tough.

Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each portion into patties, about 1 inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Preheat the Grill: Heat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Cook the Burgers: Place the turkey patties on the grill. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on one side, until the bottom is browned, then flip and cook for another 5-7 minutes. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (75°C).

Toast the Buns (optional): If you like, toast your burger buns on the grill for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers: Place the cooked turkey patties on the bottom half of each bun. Top with your choice of fresh vegetables (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers) and a dollop of tzatziki sauce if desired. Cap with the other half of the bun.

Serve and Enjoy: Serve your Spinach and Feta Delight Turkey Burgers hot off the grill with a side of sweet potato fries or a simple green salad.
