Before diving into the fun of molding your spaghetti cups, it’s essential to prepare your muffin pan properly. Greasing the muffin pan is a crucial step that ensures easy removal of the sliders after baking. Use non-stick cooking spray or butter to coat each muffin cup generously. This not only prevents the spaghetti from sticking but also helps achieve a golden-brown exterior. Make sure to cover the sides and bottom of each cup thoroughly for the best results.

Ingredients

2 cups cooked spaghetti

1 large egg

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup marinara sauce (plus extra for serving)

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (basil, oregano, thyme)

1 cup ground beef or Italian sausage (optional)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Non-stick cooking spray

Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Spaghetti Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti, egg, half of the mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, dried Italian herbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. If you're using ground beef or sausage, brown it in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess fat and add to the spaghetti mixture, stirring well to combine.

Grease the Muffin Pan: Spray a standard muffin tin generously with non-stick cooking spray to ensure the sliders can be easily removed.

Mold the Spaghetti Cups: Take about 2-3 tablespoons of the spaghetti mixture and press it firmly into the bottom of each muffin tin cup, creating a small well in the center for the marinara sauce. Repeat this process until all the cups are filled.

Bake the Cups: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.

Add Marinara and Cheese: Carefully remove the muffin tin from the oven. Spoon about 1-2 teaspoons of marinara sauce into each spaghetti cup, then top with the remaining mozzarella cheese.

Final Bake: Return the muffin tin to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Cool and Serve: Remove from the oven and allow the mini spaghetti cup sliders to cool for a few minutes. Use a butter knife to gently pry around the edges and lift them out. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce on the side and garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
