Ingredients

1 lb ground turkey

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably whole wheat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh oregano, chopped

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix the Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, basil, oregano, lemon zest, lemon juice, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Form the Meatballs: Mix all the ingredients until well combined. Use your hands to form the mixture into meatballs, roughly 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Cook the Meatballs: Drizzle a little olive oil over the meatballs for added moisture and a hint of flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and lightly browned.

Serve: Once cooked, remove the meatballs from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Serve them with a side of lemon wedges and your choice of marinara sauce or creamy herb dip for extra zest and flavor.

Enjoy: Pair with a side salad, zucchini noodles, or whole grain pasta for a complete meal.

Prep Time, Total Time, Servings: 15 minutes | 30 minutes | Makes about 20 meatballs.
