Ingredients

For the Meatballs:

1 pound ground beef (80% lean)

1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or Italian seasoned)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh parsley

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 egg, beaten

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Slider Sauce:

1 cup marinara sauce (store-bought or homemade)

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional, for slight heat)

For Assembly:

12 small slider buns

12 slices of mozzarella cheese

Optional toppings: fresh basil leaves, sliced olives, or pickles

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Meatball Mixture: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined—be careful not to overwork the meat.

Shape the Meatballs: Use a small cookie scoop or your hands to form the mixture into bite-sized meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.

Bake the Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until they are cooked through and lightly browned.

Prepare the Slider Sauce: While the meatballs are baking, heat the olive oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the marinara sauce, dried oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using). Allow the sauce to simmer gently for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Assemble the Sliders: Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the oven. Slice the slider buns in half and place a meatball on the bottom half of each bun. Top each meatball with a slice of mozzarella cheese, then spoon a generous amount of the slider sauce over the cheese.

Melt the Cheese: To melt the cheese, you can either cover the sliders with a baking dish or place them back in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is gooey, or you can broil them for about 1 minute, watching closely to prevent burning.

Serve: Once the cheese is melted, place the top half of the buns on each slider and serve immediately. Feel free to add any optional toppings like fresh basil, olives, or pickles for extra flavor!
