Ingredients

2 ripe bananas

1 cup creamy peanut butter (or any nut butter of your choice)

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate if preferred)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (for melting chocolate)

Sea salt (for garnish)

Optional: 1/4 cup granola or crushed nuts for added crunch

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas: Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/4-inch thick rounds. You should get around 16 slices from 2 bananas.

Spread the Nut Butter: Take one banana slice and spread a generous layer of peanut butter onto it. Top with another banana slice to create a sandwich. Repeat the process until all the banana slices are used up.

Freeze the Sandwiches: Place the banana sandwiches on a parchment-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Freeze for about 30 minutes, or until firm.

Melt the Chocolate: In a small saucepan, melt the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil over low heat, stirring continuously until smooth. Alternatively, you can microwave the mixture in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until melted.

Dip the Sandwiches: Remove the banana sandwiches from the freezer. Dip each sandwich into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is evenly coated. Shake off any excess chocolate and place them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle a tiny pinch of sea salt or your choice of granola/crushed nuts on top for an added crunch and flavor.

Final Freeze: Return the chocolate-covered sandwiches to the freezer for an additional 15-20 minutes until the chocolate is completely set.

Enjoy: Once set, serve immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to a week for a cool treat!
