Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp (21-25 count), peeled and deveined

1 lemon, halved

1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning

1 tablespoon sea salt

4 cups water

1 cup ketchup

2 tablespoons horseradish (adjust to taste)

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Lettuce leaves (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare the Shrimp: In a large pot, combine the water, lemon halves, Old Bay seasoning, and sea salt. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat.

Cook the Shrimp: Once boiling, add the shrimp to the pot. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until they turn bright pink and opaque. Avoid overcooking.

Ice Bath: Immediately remove the shrimp from the pot and transfer them to a bowl filled with ice water to stop the cooking process. Let them soak for about 5 minutes.

Make the Cocktail Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine ketchup, horseradish, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using). Stir well and adjust the seasoning according to your preference.

Drain and Dry: After the shrimp have cooled in the ice bath, drain them and pat dry with paper towels.

Serve: Arrange the shrimp on a platter over a bed of lettuce leaves. Serve chilled with the cocktail sauce on the side. Garnish with fresh parsley for a pop of color.
